St Therese Parish Fit for Mission – Emergency Relief pastoral plans are to responds to emergencies around the world, including in Aotearoa New Zealand.
In response to emergencies around the world we partner up with Caritas to distribute Envelope Appeals and collect food items for emergency relief around the world, including in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
We are not the riches people. It is not the amount that we will be sending, but it is a gesture of our empathy with our brothers and sisters who are in need of our help.
Our aim is to bring transparency to go forth with Gods ministry to save lives, reduce suffering, uphold human dignity, and meet people’s basic needs – regardless of ethnicity, religion or nationality.
Established by the New Zealand Catholic Bishops Conference in 1966, Caritas Aotearoa New Zealand aims to make a difference in the lives of people living with poverty or injustice through community development, advocacy, education, and emergency relief. Their work supports community development projects and emergency response in about 20 countries with 30 programmes across the Pacific, Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Meanwhile we ask you to pray for our brothers and sisters in Samoa, Tonga, Fiji and NZ who are affected by the recent cyclone.
